Default Computer Crash

One of my computers at constantly crashes. It does not stop crashing, and it is not garunteed when it will crash. Sometimes it will just restart itself 30 seconds into the session, other times it will restart itself 10 minutes into the session. Other times it will not do anything. I have suspisions that it may have something to do with a power cable or IDE cable within the hard drive. I also keep getting this Microsoft Windows error message that constantly appears:

The system has recovered from a serious error

A log of this error has been created

SEND ERROR REPORT / DON'T SEND

Whenever I click DON'T SEND, the error message keeps appearing and does not leave. I have run a chkdsk and virus scan, and nothing has come up. I have opened the PC, and there are no visible errors. I screwed the motherboard in properly and gave the videocard a clean. It is still crashing. Whilst doing the virus scan and chkdsk, I restarted in safe mode to do the virus scan and it froze. I also dis a chkdsk on restart and it froze during it.

Can anyone provide me with direction on the error that is occuring ? What can I do to fix it ?

With the freezing issue, that sounds like it's a driver issue. I know it sounds weird, but that's what did it for my computer when I first got the thing. (it was my sound card driver, btw) As for the restarting issue, I would guess that it is probably a power/heat issue for the computer. Something that is causing it to trip off; what it is exactly, I don't know, something for more experienced technicians to comment on...

Yes, well does anyone know what the reason would be for DOS freezing all the time ? I'm sure that's not a power failure

I have tried that already. I think that it could be the electrical cables that run from the Power/Reset button to the motherboard because they seem abit dodgey. Does anyone think that this could be the problem ?
