Recently my PC running Xp home will not let me print. I think this started after updating with SP2 although I cannot be sure. I had two printer installed on the PC and now none of them appear in the Printers and Faxes folder. When I try to add a printer I get the following error:

"Operation could not be completed"

I narrowed this error down to the print spooler, that it may have been disabled or stopped. When I try to start the Print Spooler I get the following error:

"Could not start the Print Spooler service on local computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start."

With a Google search I tried this resolution:

but it did not work. I have also uninstalled SP2, to no avail. I cannot seem to get any further answers on this problem from google, i have hit a dead end as to what to try next. Hoping someone can shed some light please. Thanks
