wow, it turns out the person i talked to at gateway lied to me. the max my mobo will support is a 366mhz mendocino.
http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERB...m0033502.shtml two of there tech support people told me it would work. im sure glad i didnt shell out money on a new cpu. i thought i would ask a few more tech reps for assistance, and i did so the new processor was ruled out. no for the final results in the gateway technical support showdown!!! 2 said it would work 4 said it wouldnt work you would think they would have all said one thing, they all were probally sitting in cubicles right next top each other. ![]()

also one of the sales reps told me if i add 256mb's of ram and a 64mb video card, that this would increase my system performance by 187%. this was the first one i talked to who told me that i could put any slot 1 with 66/100fsb on my computer, so im not sure weither to believe him about the 187% thing either.
