You might also have registry entries that have gone bad with time, so try getting a registry cleaner. There are some free ones, do a google search.

And if all else fails, REFORMAT!!!

it seems my computer got worse. i downloaded some free spyware remover and stuff and my computer froze off of them and now my DVD Rw wont read anydisks and my computer just keeps lagging. Do i need 2 upgrade my proccessor or ram or something??

I dont think it would be my harddrives there r 2 and they equal about half a terabyte. wat about the issue with my DVD rom?

I've deleted all my posts as runninglizard. I have to change my username. ( I have reasons.) So I'll use this one to help you. Are you sure DVD drives would make a difference? I'm open to correction.....

like a difference in performance? yeah it does because i would like put a CD in or game , the computer will stop responding but then i would take the CD out and it would go back 2 norrmal.

Sorry I miss understood. I thought you meant like surfing the web and stuff. Yeah, I suppose it could be. There are things you can get to clen them. Is it programs from a DVD/CD you are struggling with?

You could try Spybot S&D, it's the best known spyware program out there, besides being free.
