Default How does that work?

Something I don't get. If you had a mobo with DDR 400 RAM standard, would DDR 500 work on it?

Yes it will work - DDR500 is the maximum speed it's rated for. However, unless you're overclocking, it will only run at DDR400 speeds.

it'll work, but the ram is just gonna downclock itself to DDR400 speed.

so is it better to get the higher rated ram if u plan on OCing? Or is it bad for it to downclock?
