Depends what hdd it is. THe one with your OS on it? You would have to format with a windows OS cd, or linux Cd. If its your slave drive, just go under my computer, right click on the drive, and click format.

Yes. Go to www.bootdisk.com and make a DOS bootdisk. Put it in your compouter and reboot it, it should go to a C: prompt. Type "format C:\" (no quotes) and wait for it to be done. After it is finished, remove the disk, hit ctrl-alt-delete, and stick in the OS cd that you are going to install.

Pop in a windows OS cd in your computer to format it. If you have another HDD with an operating you can use that, and do what i said in my previous post. You can also make a floppy drive that will format your hdd.

PS-Even if you didnt have to use an OS cd, you would still need one to run and OS correct?
