Default watching tv on computer..

i got a question, is there anyway i can have my tv working and at the same time watching it on my computer ? tv hooked up to satelite... what do I need to be able to do that ? i got geforce 6800gs, i believe it can handle it

Look for a decent video capture card. A tuner probably wouldn't help you much as I assume you need a box to tune the satelte, but a good card to look into is a WinTV PVR 150.

wqhen you want to watch tv on the computer all you need is a TV Tuner card and a vid card right?

i think, or maybe just a video card w/ tv tuner built in? iunno, lol, dont know much about that.

i was wanting 2 do the same thing alo.

i dont get it, if i buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116625 so then geforce 6800gs is useless and cannot be used ? why does it say TV OUT then on geforce ?

yes, i think thats what you would deffinately need 2 watch TV on, it has the cable hookup. go on Ebay and look 4 a tuner card, you could probrably find 1 4 have that price.

The TV out is for if you want to see your computer screen on your tv, if yo wan to watch tv on your computer you will need to get a tv tuner card, they come in PCI and USB interfaces and the software you will need will be on the cd that comes with the card, I reccomend a Hauppauge card/box, there good with tv tuners

they come on all types of PCI? or just PCI-E? because my Dell on calls 4 the old PCI's.
