Hey,
Can anyone please help me out and recommend some software based on the following criteria: - Manager windows user accounts - Restrict access to specific software - Restrict access to specific drives/folders - Control what users can edit (ie system configuration) - Prevent users from shutting down startup programs ie antivirus - Prevent users from installing software As you can basicially tell I need some form of software which will allow me (the administrator) to set windows user account restrictions, which will be different for evey user and prevent them from accessing areas/software which others can access etc. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Software cost it not a problem at this point, mainly trying to find out what is offered and the average software cost to determine is implementation is appropriate. Thanks in advance |

If you're using XP, aren't there Guest accounts that have limits such as these attached to them? I don't know precisely how to set them up, but I'd read that was their purpose, to limit what the guest user can do.

Yeah im using xp and I thought that too, but couldnt work out how to have it completely setup correctly.
For example i have several folders in my c drive, some of which some users can assess while other users i dont want to be able to access. Is there a way i can set this up so only specific users can access it. Can anyone give software or more help on guest accounts. Thanks |

If you have XP Pro, go to Start > Run > gpedit.msc
that allows you to edit the policies for specific users.
