I want an 80gb Western Digi Caviar HDD. But I don't understand the difference between UDMA 100 and U 100. See link below. Does it matter which one I get.

I think U100 is just an abbriviation for UDMA100 or something as I've never seen that before and can't find anything about it online. Well, I could find a laptop model called the U100
![]() Anyway, looking at the specs, the Western Digital drive that has "U100" seems to have 8M cache, where as the UDMA100 one only has 2M. Thus, the "U100" is the better of the two.
