Default Ploblem- "no signal input".

My monitor just randomly seems to go to a blank screen and says "No Signal Input" or something, as if the monitor is not connected to the computer. The computer is still running however (the fans are still going etc.) Also sometimes games lock-up and freeze.

I would have thought it was a video card problem, but it did it occasionally with my radeon 9200 and now with my X850XT (full specs in sig), so it's not a gfx card problem. The other thing is it seems to do it more in graphics heavy games.

Can you give me any advise or suggestions on what is wrong? I think it might be a power supply problem but I'm not sure. Would taking out a drive (say a dvd drive- I have 2) let the graphics card have more power?

Did you try using another monitor to rule that out?

1. Latest chipset and video drivers installed?
2. Double-check Power Options to see that your monitor isn't set to shut off too early.

Possible bad cable or connection at the video card or monitor.

If you unconnect the Signal input thats what is should say, make sure its tight on, maybe buying a new signal cable would solve it.
