Default Creative Zen Touch

Specs first:

Windows XP pro SP2
AMD 64 3200+
WD Raptor 74GB
Another IDE 80GB system
ASROCK 939 Dual-Series (AGP/PCI-E although AGP doesn't work)

This is what they told me to do.

- Disconnect any other USB/Firewire devices temporarily.
- Connect your player directly to a USB port on the motherboard, instead
of a USB hub.
- Ensure you are using the latest USB drivers for your motherboard
- Attach your player to your computer
- Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardware Tab and
Device Manager
- Delete any Zen Touch entries by right clicking on the entry and
selecting Uninstall. The MP3 player may be listed under Other Devices or
Unknown Devices.
- Uninstall all the applications related to the Zen Touch (MediaSource
etc)
- Disable antivirus, popup blockers and background applications before
re-installing the drivers
- Reconnect the Zen Touch again, and see whether it can be detected. If
it can be, install the software again.

Essentially I have done this, although I haven't had a try at these yet since I haven't been home to try. The problem is that my computer detects the device, but as an unknown device. My printer works fine so I know that i tisn't my USB drives. Also, my motherboard doesn't actually have USB drivers for download. If I attempt to install any supplied with my Mobo, it says that I should just update windows which gives my USB drivers. What to do?

hi, i have the Creative Zen Touch and have never had any problems with it, by the sounds of it the player is on its way out, if you have tried the above there is not much else to say. Is it still under warranty??

got it too, didn't they give you a disk with Nomad Explorer on it? You should have that and install it, then you can double-click Nomad Explorer in My Computer when it's connected and it should detect it

my mate has one of those mp3 players and i had to get all the new drivers from the Zen website to use on my x64 system.

I've got a 64 bit processor and 32 bit windows, if that's your setup, you shouldn't be having problems
