Default wots happened to socket 754

have they stooped producing socket 754 for amd athlon 64 because it looks as its been changed to socket 939. im just asking could be wrong just want to know

they are phasing it out so for the new year it will be 939 and 940.

Socket754 is the cheaper version of the Socket939. The major differences differences are:
- Lack of dual channel memory controller (whopee)
- 800MHz HT instead of 1GHz HT (a slightly bigger whoopee)

No they're not. The 940s have been phased out (for Athlon64s).
