Default Memory upgrade question

Recently I took my computer to a local computer store for additional memory. I have 4 slots in my computer and three of them were already full with DDR PC2700 cards. The tech person put an additional card in my computer but it is a DDR PC3200. Is this okay or should it match my other cards?

Your PC3200 will only run at the speeds of the lowest-speed card. So, it will run at PC2700. If the situation were vice-versa, and you had 3 PC3200 cards, and one PC2700 card, they would all still run at PC2700 speeds.

It will run fine, however you pay me paying more for the PC3200 ram when you wont be getting any more performance than if you just went with PC2700 ram.
