if so, if i own a game for xbox (Splinter Cell), then am i allowed to download the PC version on a torrent site?..lol just wondering..

naw, cus i beleive PC and Xbox are different versions... lets say u have PS2 and Xbox... u can't say "hey i have Splinter Cell for one, so i guess i can go steal the other one from somewhere"

im my opinion if you get the game and dont go out to a game shop and trade money for games then you have got the game illegally.

having said that i have a copy of bearshare on my pc, but its bought and i only use it to download freeware software, manuals, pdf's and documents

but is a bought copy of bearshare still illegal

dont any of you sleep

Well for starters, if you own the PC version, you're not allowed to download it, not sure where you heard about that but its not true. And im pretty sure that gives the answer to the second question too.

ya it does...but if thats how it all goes, then why are torrent sites (probly shouldnt name any) allowed to keep stuff like that being shared and uploaded?...couldnt the website operators just go through and delete it all?.. i mean it'd probly take some time to do, but doesnt make sense why theyre still allowed to keep it...

Technically all the torrent sites do is share a small file, they're not distributing the copyrighted files themselves, i think thats why they dont get closed down. They get threatened alot, one in particular, but nothing ever comes of it. Some torrent sites, especially private trackers, have a disclaimer saying something along the lines of "no members of any goverment nor any RIAA are allowed to view this website, if you are, then leave now."
