problems with IE6 after windows updates

i recently had the sasser virus, got owned by it and was forced to reinstall windows with a formatted drive. seemed to work fine until i got the windows update patches. the browser wouldnt work. now, i dont recall if i restored the computer because of other problems after i installed the patch that would've fixed the IE connection problems after using windows update.

the problem is, it connects to the internet through an isp fine and it loads web pages fine. then, it seems like after time of being online (after often being idle), it seems to not be able to connect to sites. everything else, like AIM and outlook work great, but its just IE. any one else have a similiar problem? and can anyone link me to the IE6 patch that allowed u to reconnect to sites after some windows update patches? thanks!

Do you have win xp or winx p sp1. Did you go to auto update?
