Default Please help with finding a replacement fan

Hey guys,

After a few weeks of waiting, I finally got my laptop back from best buys repair team... It was overheating as well as a few other problems, but everything now is fixed except that the fan they replaced it with is apparently not new or has problems.

It makes a little noise every few seconds, which isn't that bad at all, but every 5-10 minutes it will rattle like crazy. I can literally hear it from the living room when my laptop is a few bedrooms away!

I have decided that I'd like to go ahead and replace the fan myself if I can find a matching one instead of waiting another 2-3 weeks. I've already been able to get to the inside and here is a picture of the one I need...

This is what is printed on it...

CF0550-B10M-C046

DC 5V 0.25A

SAM LAM TECH. CO. LTD.

I have searched on google and some other places, but I cant seem to find a replacement fan for this one.

Could someone more experienced with finding replacement parts please be of assistance to me? I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Regards,
Adam Murray

Can you not fix that one, or get another small fan that will fit there?

How can you fix a fan? I thought once they went bad there was nothing you can do.

I need to find a fan exactly that size.. any smaller and it wont fit the screw holes.

I'm not sure of the exact size, because I already put it back in the laptop, but I would say its diameter is about 1 & 3/4 inch.

hmm well I could try and help you find one but would need to know the correct size, or you could phone SAM LAM TECH. CO. LTD. and they would sort you out with one and most likly for free

I am trying to find the contact info for Sam Lam Tech, but I think they are a foreign company.

I will take apart my laptop once again later and take accurate measurements of the fan...

I was really hoping that someone would just be able to take the part number and pull up details about the fan and then be able to find a replacement.

Anyone have any other suggestions than taking apart my laptop again to measure the fan?
