Default question about the memory on an external hard drive

my external hd currently has 59.9gb left. so i deleted a video on it that was about 300mb. i looked at my memory again and it still said 59.9. am i supposed to do anything else? or do things in external hd's never really go away? thanks

I think that should be normal for removing only 300mb..

On mines, unless I remove a full 500mb, it will not show any changes.. It's either a solid number or a .5... i.e. 14gb, 14.5gb, 15gb..

I still can be wrong so let's see if anyone can give you any other advice

Mine shows the exact space. I currently have 65.78 free space.
(Externals are sometimes screwy)
