Default Some folders on my desktop won't open

I cant open My Documents or My Computer, internet explorer and a few others, it could be that I have buggerd it up myself
when trying to get rid of a virus. I would be most greatful if someone could help especially if it's put in simple terms for an idiot. Thanks for your time, finchy.

Yeah, your missing some DLL files, which is usually due to a virus! DLL files missing can cause a whole series of faults, if your opertting system disk has a "repair" function use that, otherwise just re-install the entire OS
