Default F.E.A.R causes computer to freeze upon exit...

Is anyone else having this problem, I have the latest patch and all

I press yes on the "Are you sure you wish to exit fear?" and it dosen't quit, the mouse can still be moved around, but anything else I try like the ALT CTR DLT just wont work... kinda odd.

Try updating your video and sound drivers if you haven't already to see if that can help along with looking over non essential background apps. A good registry cleaner as well as memory tester like memtest might also be advised. Also look over your temps to see if something like the video card is heating up. A number of similar games will also lock for these reasons.

Another thing that comes to mind besides a firewall is any apps or background services you have running as well as antivirus utilities. Some of those can raise havoc with a number of games out. That's where the msconfig can help to temporarily disable them.

You may have to backup all game saves and configuration info to a separate folder to reinstall the game fresh. I've seen too many game lock solid during game play only to find a game file didn't either go on right or a software conflict came about. Sometimes a patch can go bad when added too.
