Nvidia has a pretty large market share, and I don't think that is due to die hard fans, they must be doing something right to captivate and retain some much market share.

My first card was an ATi Rage Fury 32MB 3Dcard, I then got a Voodoo4, which didn't do smoke effects very well, so I stuck with the ATi. My first big upgrade was to the Geforce MX440 64MB, awesome midrange card at the time, but it couldn't run BF2 so I upgraded to an ATi X800GTO which was awesome, but still AGP, so when my computer was upgraded I got the Nvidia 7600GT PCIe, which was the best thing since sliced bread to me. However in all fairy tales there must be a villain which turned out to be Test Drive Unlimited, I upgraded to the 8800GTS 320MB, but sold that PC. I have since then had an 8600GT, 7900GT, 7950GT, and now have settled on the power hungry ATi HD2900XT 1GB DDR4 Monster.

I have had more Nvidia cards, they are easier to install, manage, overclock, less power needy etc etc.

But for some reason I find myself with an ATi and I love it. It looks great, goes great, and mine is only running at about 50% effifciency due to PSU, which is going to be upgraded soon. But the card still outperforms the 7950GT, even at 50%. I just love saying I have the most powerful single GPU ATi have ever produced(to date). I can't wait to get that PSU.

My vote should be for Nvidia(Empire -Star Wars), but I went for ATi(The Rebels - Star Wars).

That's an interesting way of looking at it. It used to be alot different before, in the Nvidia FX days, ATi was king.

Eh?

AMD and ATI are one company now...

I think it depends on application and price range, they are both good, it is more about best bang for the buck now..

To me AMD and Nvidia go hand in hand. IDK, they just fit well together. I havent ever used an ATI but, nvidia just attracks my attention more. Just a personal preference.
