I am a proud Canadian and I use ATI
I'm also Canadian but I also want what's best for me and at the time of my purchase Nvidia was the best as was ATI b4 that purchase ;-) and if next I make my purchase and ati has the best bang for the buck card as they once had in the 9800pro then I'll purchase ATi again. right now I'm more then a little turned off ATi as a whole when I see the 9800pro selling for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much.

Nividia All the Way acutally its not like memory modudles where u can jsut look at the specs and have one clear winner. I think that they both very good compaines I think the geforce6800 ultra is "the" best card out there and clrealy beats out the atis x800 By miles!!!

Thats because the 6800U has 16 pipes, the X800 has 12. It also costs twice as much. If you're gonna make a comparison, let it be a meaninful one

technically we were talking about monitors in a monitor thread when it got merged to this one

it sorta is and it sorta isn't. While I agree that there is more to it than card specs (ie Drivers) no driver can overcome 'bad' specs

Lightbulb Nvidia

I have tried cards from both manufacturers.

I find that nvidia cards run MUCH more smoothly. And performed better in
most benchmark tests.

I think its definately worth the extra money.

And btw radeon does not have a card with 16 pixel pipeline yet, i think....

Im with nvidia all the way

"Radeon" isnt a company. Its a product line. And they've got more 16pipe cards than nVidia. If you ran benchmarks with a 16pipe nVidia and didnt even know ATi had 16pipe cards, its inheirently an unfair comparison since you must be comparing between generations/classes. Regardless, with ATI's [current generation], even if you dont have a 16pipe card you usually have better luck unlocking them

You can take 2 6800Gts in SLI for like a grand, an extra 200 bucks over the x850 PE and it slays it. I look forward to trying that setup just need a processor that doesnt suck.

If you're paying $800 for the X850PE then you deserve whatever happens to you (and same goes for the SLI cards) ... lol
