WordPerfect 12 Error

Using WordPerfect a document was attempted to be copied to paste to another location. The program froze up and gave the ‘not responding’ message. When I tried to paste the document in Word Pad I got the following error:

This action cannot be completed because the “WordPerfect 12 – (Document 3)” program is not responding. Choose “Switch To” and correct the problem."

Is there any way to recover my WordPerfect document without losing data?
