Default 1.86 pentium M or 1.66 duo core

I don't know if I want to order the dell xps m140 with a 1.86 pentium m with 533 fsb, 80 gig 5400 rpm, 512 ram i dimm, and intel 900 integrated graphic card. Or go with the inspiron E1505 Dual Core with a 1.66 duo core processor, 667 fsb, 512 ram 1 dimm, 60 gig 5400 rpm hdd, 128 video card.

I'd go with the second. Newer model, newer technology, faster bus, and a better graphics card.

I don't know. They perfected that Pentium M in Israel. A 1.86 Gigahertz M can pipe at the same speed as a Pentium 4 running 2.62 G. Depends on how well the cache can switch between each processor on that Inspiron. I'd want the Intel integrated anyway.

But is the newer processor worth an extra $90?

It supposedly kicks a lot of butt, however, I have never used it. I would say yes, I would buy it over a Pentium M any day.

Yea, what's so great about that? If we are talking about single-core processors, the Turion is superior to the Pentium M in mostly everything, and it is 64-bit. The Core Duo is better than the Pentium M.

Go with the second choice. The Core Duo series greatly improved upon the Pentium M. It's a dual-core as well, so you get even more processing power!
