Exclamation SLi: Questions

I was just wondering to work SLi I need to get two identical graphic cards.
I currently have a Verto 6600GT is it ok to get a for instance a XFX 6600GT or other type of 6600GT instead?

Also just wondering can you run a 6800GT or any other Geforces with the 6600GT I currently have? Or do they have to be identical?

They have to be the same type, such as 6600GT's. You cant mix a 6800GT and a 6600GT.

I dont think they have to be the same brand, but they have to have the same specs (speeds, pipes, memory type, ect).

They need to be the same model (same manufacuter doesn't matter [it might, never tried it]) to work in SLI. If you wanted to SLI you would need to buy another 6600GT which would almost be a waste of money at this time period.
