Unwanted text enlargement & mouse movement

Hi,

All of the sudden when I open Firefox, the text increases to HUGE letters and the default PC beep starts. I basically can't use Firefox because of it. In IE, the opposite occurs, small text. Also, out on the desktop the pointer is constantly moving laterally very slowly. Tried rebooting. Nothing changed. No new installs or anything. Batteries are new in wireless mouse. Any ideas? Thanks.
