Browser issues after PC is idle

I recently purchased an HP a1410, 3800 Athlon/1GB RAM/200GB HD. My default browser is Firefox ( I refuse to use IE unless absolutely necessary ). I have noticed that when the PC is turned on and idle, like overnight, my browser won't connect to any websites the following morning; any sites in my Apache area ( I do some web design and PHP), however, will open up fine. This happens in any browser I try to use, including Firefox, Mozilla and Opera. The only fix for this is to reboot the computer, then the browsers connect fine. Any ideas what may cause this, and any suggestions for a fix?
