Default IBM 600 laptop turns on, but shows nothing on moniter

Hello, I just got an IBM 600 in a recent trade. I plug in the cord, press power, the light on the far right lights up, but nothing shows up on the screen. I tried hooking it up to a computer monitor, but still nothing shows up. It pretty similiar to this one: http://www.laptopoutlet.com/ibmth600lapi.html I know its reallly old, but i just wanna try to get it working. Im new to laptops, so there may be something stupid that im missing. Thanks for any advice.

i think my friends got a similair laptop to that, have you tried all the fundemental things like adjusting the brightness and so on (if it the same thing as my m8's then there is a lever of omse kind above the keyboard that you adjust the brightnes with) if you hooked it up to another monitor however then that probably wont help, unless a connection is faulty. otherwise try making sure you cant see any exposed wies in the hinges or anything, just have look around have a check, otherwise send it back/use the warranty, if you have one, if not then find a specialsit, thats all i can think of atm (ive probs missed something stupid too)
