Default Which Mouse Pad to get ?

Tjis is a stupid question, but it's important at the same time.
I'm buying today a Logitech G7 Laser mouseand some ppl tell me that it doesn't work on Black surfaces ?
I have a normal material mouse pad right now, and I smoke a lot when i play online and lemme tell u, any mouse in a week is so dirty from the ash that I can't clean it anymore. I saw there's some steel mousepads now, are they good ? do they get dirty so fast ? I'll b buying from here, so if some pads worked great for u lemme know.

White reflects the laser or optical light best but a black mousepad will work to. Unless you're a serious gamer you won't need a 40$ mousepad.

If its optical, hey just stick a peice of white paper under it. Easier for you to clean. Up to this point, I have never really used a real mouse pad. haha.

Mouse pad? Whats that? I just use my desk as one giant mouse pad.
