New I got home from school today to be greeted by my dad asking me to fix the computer. The screen that came up said the Windows wasnt shut down properlly. That was all good and well and I pressed 'Start Windows XP as normal' and the computer froze. I reset the computer and tried again. Same result. I then kept trying trying different options but each time the same result. Each time I press enter the countdown clock freezes and the computer does nothing. If I leave it to just keep counting downit freezes at 0. Please my dad needs his emails.
Thanks in advance. Ps. I cant think of any changes to the computer in the last few days.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS\system 32\ntoskrnl.exe and the last being multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS\FONTS\ vgaoem.fon but then freezes again. Anyway know what this means? Should more lines show up

If you have the windows disk you can try a repair install which will keep your data but reload windows back onto your computer, you could also try a boot disk or the recovery console, if you google for some some commands you can maybe rebuild you boot cfg which is probably the problem.
try here http://www.winxpfix.com/page18.htm and here http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=291980
