Default disappears

I am currently running winXP x64 and have mult logins. it was working fine until I updated on win update. Now my adminstrator login is gone off the login screen. also it is gone in user accounts. I can login to admin when I change the way users login but I would like to keep the login screen the way it is . eaiser for the kids.
when i go to Run the type in control userpasswords2 it lists my admin account there which is why i can not make it again. Any ideas On how to get my admin account to show in the login screen. that is the only account that disappears.

Windows XP disables the ability to have the account admin present on the welcome screen as it advises you not use it for security reason. If you want to be an administrator yourself, you should set up a New administrator account, ie You name but give it admin sufficient rights.

As you can log in to the admin account as its gone you can do this through save mode ie press F8 on system start up, then add yourself as a new user in control panel/user accounts. Or you could change the way you log in and then access pc and add new admin account in your name.

Alternatively if you wish to use the admin account you have to tweak the windows registry, i advise against this, you are better off creating a new admin profile ie your name.

See this website on registry tweaks

Once again i advise again this.

Cheers
