Windows or Restore console?

I just recently did a few minor registry changes in hopes for better performace, and disabled one service though MSCONFIG... Now when I boot, I get a quick message asking about either going to Windows or Restore Console? It's rather quick(5 seconds or so) and Windows boots just fine, but why'd it suddenly start coming up? I assume it's something I did to the registery, but it shouldn't... Any ideas? I guess I could try a system restore, but I didn't know if there were any more practical solutions.

which service did u disabled in MSCONFIG?
also did you made the registry backup before you made any changes..?

System restore didn't do it, so I checked boot.ini. Well what do you know

I removed a line and it boots right up now. It's probably been there the whole time

Well its great to know that you figured it out without doing anything serious,, its a bitch to to do either system restore or re-installation of windows..

That can be an understatement as far as wiping the current installation is concerned. A restore point is a bit easier especially with a program that creates new ones daily. You can find Setpoint along with a number of utilities for reg and Windows repair at: http://www.easydesksoftware.com/down.htm
