What type of Laptop should I get?

What is the best type of laptop a person can get for a reasonable price? I don't actually need it for a while, but I am starting to look for what would be good for me to take to college. The university I am want to go to requires a laptop and it can be either PC or Mac.

I'd appreciate some input. Thanks!

1) What's your budget exactly?
2) Are you wanting it to be capable of playing high-spec games?
3) Any sway towards either Windows or Mac?

well dell can be good but if truth be told, there are much better deals out there. macs could be nice for college if u dont want to play too many games and all that
