Default Epson Expression 636 GHETTO SCANNER

I have the Epson Expression 636 old beast scanner..and when i plug it in it doesn't detect it..via...parrallel..the big fat wide kind..to the pc paralell i think the port on the back that is pink..
i have searched on epsons driver/software page and they don't have any drivers/software specificly for windows XP..what should i do...should i use the driver for 98,95,2000,or nt 4.0???and should i use the software for 95,98,2000,or NT4.0??( i **THINK** i have already tried the 98 software and driver and no luck )
or is there anyother way to do this?

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...atform=Windows
that is the driver download page on epsons website

i'm confused...
so what i'm asking is how am i going to make my computer recognize it?

thanks

Yeah, the one for NT would be the best bet, or MAYBE 2000. But, try the NT one first. If that doesn't work, you might have to buy a new one...(printer)
