Exclamation wireless router problem

Does anyone have an idea why my Internet works when my cable modem is connected directly to a PC, but does not work when connected to my router? Neither LAN nor WLAN work. Let me know if you need more information. Thanks.

Oh... and I can access my router configuration page, and it does show my IP for the cable modem. WLAN SSID shows up on other computers as an available network.

The router is a D-Link DI-624M.

Double check that the router is emmiting a wirless signal. In the router setting, make sure wireless is enabled, and setup an SSID, with ker if you like. On your computer, with a wirless card, scan for avaliable networks, and you should see your SSID as one of the avaliable networks.

Dont forget to enable WEP for security reasons. You dont want anyone freelancing off of your paid service, or accessing your shared files

it take a lot more than WEP to fully secure a network, you can get past wep in about 10 mins

Are you getting an IP address when plugged into the router? If not then you wont be able to get internet or LAN. Make sure DHCP is enabled on the router.
