Default Second Hard Disk Not Readable

I Have 2 40 Gig Disks On My Computer,
They Were Working Fine Until I Had To Re-format The Windows Operating System.
I Did That By Unplugging My Data Disk And Reloading Windows (*home) Onto The Other.
This Now Works Fine But When I Plugged The Data Disk Back In The Computer Sees It, Says Its Ok But Wont Let Me Access It.
It Says It's A Raw File System But I Know It's Not.
Wont Let Me Look At It Unless I Format It Which I Dont Want To Do.

Can Anyone Help
