Default Li-ion battery charge question

Is it ok to charge the Li-ion battery when there are still power laft?

Lets say the battery still have 50% of the power laft is it ok to charge it?

I think it's ok. My brother plays on his NDS while it's charging and it's still running just fine. Now, if it's brand new I've heard that it's best to wait until the battery is completely drained and then recharge it.

With Lithium and NiMH, it's actually better to charge before they are totally dead.
