so from my revious rig i have a 1 gig stick of PQI turbo ram. i dont remember the exact timings but they are easily accessable at newegg or anywhere. I also have a 512 stick of basically the same ram, instead of the "turbo" its just the value bottom of the line stuff i bought just to get my rig running.

i just bought a new DFI ultra d expert, a 3800 X2, 7900gt.....

when i hooked all this system up i tried running the 1 gig stick in slot 1, then the 512 stick in slock 3. well system wouldnt boot. so i took the 512 stick out and it boots fine.

my question is this. Should i buy another 1 gig stick the same as the one i have? or should i buy another 512 the same, or should i get all new ram? i see alot of people usually tend to have 2x512 rather then 2x1gig. tell me why.

ohyea i plan on doin quite a bit of overclocking.....
