Default Problem deleting in Internet Options

Hello,

I'm using IE 6.0 on Windows XP. My problem is, when I go into Internet Options and try to delete/clear things (files/cookies/forms), it just won't have it. The cursor just stays on the timer indefinitely, so I have to open up the Task Manager and close the page that way. Does anyone know what the problem may be and how I can resolve it?

Thanks, Omah.

Try ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/

Do you have a slow pc? Another reason is it might have so much stuff on it that it could take an hour I have seen this happen before!

Thanks for the quick response. I've ran the cleaner and everything's cleared OK, but I couldn't delete the forms or it would have taken the passwords saved with some of them too.

With regards to my computer, it's very quick as it has next to nothing saved/installed on it.

My computer's brand new too, and I get a similar thing when I click on "Delete Files", "Delete Cookies" and "Clear History". I could literally make a cup of tea while I wait! Lol. Eventually it does the job though.

I'm not sure if your problem is different...

I think it's something different because when I open up the Task Manager it says Not Responding under Status...

On mines, it takes ages to clear up too.. I dont know of any reason why.. but it just does.. and eventually it'll clear up..

There are several cleaners that you can use.. like CCleaner, as stated above.. and many more that I do not know off hand.. however, you can go to:
www.download.com

Search for phrases like "clean internet tracks", "clear browser cookies", etc.. and it'll show up with several programs you can choose from.
