Question a simple question

i need your help.....
does formatting computer many time(ex:10 times in a month) will effect hardware performance or damage it????

I seriously doubt it would do any physical damage to any hardware. It would basically just make your hard drive do a lot of work, but their motors are designed for 100% duty anyhow.

My question is why on earth would you need to reformat so much.

Do you mean format or defrag, how do you not lose your mind reformating 10 times a month?

i format my hard drive aswell, dunno why. probabbly cuz when th os get unstable id ont bother fixing it just reformat and reinstall.

well i can say i do it a bit less than that, trust me

once i formatted my promary hd 3x in 1 day.

That's nothing, I had to format it 5 times.

Format to FAT32 for Win98SE
Format to ReiserFS for SuSe 9.3
Format to FAT32 for Win98SE
Format to NTFS for WinXP
Format to NTFS for WinXP

It got a bit frustrating as WinXP wouldn't work properly at first.

ha i dunno why but i find it quiet satisfying when i have to format due to problems i cant fix, probably because iknow it will fix it
