First off, I WANT the side pannel! I know how to totally get rid of it, so that's not my question... My problem, Windows XP will think I have a directory of music if I have a single MP3 in there and then 5000 pictures. It's crazy, and honestly, I have never used the common tasks crap. However, I DO like previews of my pictures and such.

Question : Can I get rid of "common tasks" and just have it more like Windows 2000? Basically where it just shows what's in the "details" box. Also, I'd like to get rid of the different sort options. When it's a Music folder, it has sort by track, album, etc etc. All I want is the default sort methods...

Another question, I know I can customize the sort methods. I do, but every so often, it reverts back to the Music sort options. Is there some file I can make and place in a folder so it'll never forget that?
