Technically no. But you just have to look at the connection. Some will be USB, some Firewire, and even some older ones are parallel port or PC card slot. Some you can boot off of and some you won't be able to (that could be either the laptop or the external drive's problem).

i think mine may be a Parellel, it's right next 2 my Printer port, which is a Parellel port. it's alot thinner than a Parellel.
