I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I didn't know where else it fit.
I have an old Compaq computer with an Intel Pentium III 598 Mhz processor. I want to upgrade that for as cheap as possible. Will an Intel Celeron D 325 work with that? Or will it only accept Pentium III? |

I'm nearly 100% sure that processor is Slot one, and I know that Celeron isn't... If you want to upgrade, you'll have to get another slot one. They have around 1GHz Pentium III slot1's. There's also a converter from Slot1 to Socket370, but those tend to have compatability problems.

You may want to go to Compaq directly to see if you find the specifications on that model board. That should list the upgrade capability as far as which model cpus will run on it as well as memory capacity.
