Money 2000 on Windows XP (Help!!!)

Hi, I'm not very good with computers and am trying to install the program Money 2000 on my laptop which has windows XP (personal not business version) I keep getting a message which reads : "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTERM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application."

I can't work out how to get it to run.

Anyone got any ideas?
