Thats the thing, an AMD X2 4200+ motherboard with DDR2 and SLI is about £100 and i cant find anything cheaper that has both of those things, does anyone know any good ones. Because of this im thinking of going back to getting a Intel D 940. Need abit of advice

Red face RE:Is this a good set up for games, first build. oh and will it all work together??

hi i had a look at the specs and all is well but as a sugestion you may want to opt for an AMD based system with a 64/64x2 Athlon or if you really wanna super fast system a 64fx.
Personally a fast 64 or mid range 64x2 would suit a gamer perfectly for just about all modern games etc. AMD based systems are often more stable and run at higher clock speeds comparred to equivilant intels from my personal experiance.
P.S. if you do opt for an AMD then a change of motherboard will be inevitable
P.P.S That GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 will make mince meat of anything you can throw at the moment and continue to for 2yrs+

Conroe supposably right now beats out amd in benchmarks, but for cheap probably not. I highly doubt it will be for the average consumer.
