Hi, I would really appreciate a bit of help!
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 with Centrino Duo. I have been running my laptop from a shared router for a couple of weeks with 3 other laptop users. On friday, for no reason I can ascertain, i couldn't log on to the inetnet even though my wireless icon showed I had strong signal. The other guys using thte same router ( and one with the same lap top as me bought 4 weeks ago) are still online. i rang dell and they tested that there was nothing wrong with my wireless card (pinging etc) and Int Explorer as I can use it from LAN. Therefore it seems to be the router. Can anyone tell me if it's as easy as switching the router off and then on after 10 seconds or is there something else i can do. The guy from Dell mentioned MAC addresses (or something sounding like that) and my IP might be blocked, but I have no real idea what this means. Any help here would be extremely welcome and I would be extrermly grateful for it. Thanks guys |
