Default USB scanner not working -again

Sorry to bother you with this again but my new BenQ scanner has quit working and brings up an error message, I have uninstalled the software etc, but it still won't scan. Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply. You can read the string from Nov. 14 'USB scanner doesn't work' for an idea of what has been tried so far.

Have you tried a different cable? Does the computer recognize the scanner in the device window?

It's possible a conflict exists thru the USB port since my computer recognizes the scanner each time I reinstall it but an error message prevents it from working. The Adaptec ASPI driver recommended by Lorand got the scanner working again for a couple of days, even after the computer was shut down and restarted. Then the problem returned.

Try plugging the device into a different USB port, if possible a USB port on the other side of the machine. So if it is plugged in on the back of the machine, try the front, if you have ports there.

Tried another USB port, I only have two, but that didn't help.

Have you tried a different cable. That was my problem. Also, try unpluggin the scanner for 60 seconds, because that will reset it.
