Front Audio port not working

I have an eMachines T6420, and the pink mic port does not work in the front.

I have checked front port plugs and they are secure on the motherboard, and all my control panel settings are set to have front ports up to max, with microphone boost. But, it is not reading the mic that I plug intothe front pink port.

I have realtek sound.
