well i agree with what your sayin, it is a beta. but if anythink microsoft should make the beta a stable os if they expect people to buy it when it comes out, basically there not doing themselfs any favours by releasing the beta which might make people think its a bad os to have

Well it only needs a definition of the word beta to counter-act that statement

Yes, Vista will do just fine. You know I come across people who say ME was the best OS ever made. I mean think about it... WINDOWS! Of course it'll do fine. Basically every computer in the world is compatable with it now, and nearly all of them will come with it preloaded once it comes out. I seriously doubt your average user will change the OS on their new Dell to something like Linux or back to XP They will just stick with whatever it came with.

Vista will be a success just like every other version of Windows that preceded it. If you buy a new prebuilt computer, it will (eventually) have Vista preinstalled. It's not like anyone will have a choice as to whether or not their new PC will have XP or Vista on it. Each OS was a success in its day because that's what came with the computer, like The Other One says.

It's only going to be in hindsight whether or not Vista will be considered a good OS. A sales success does not necessarily mean it will be considered a good product.

Of course its going to be a success!

The reason people say its bad is because well, it requires great hardware performing systems ... and oh yea, they are testing BETAS... so it's bound to crash and such.

Like 95, previously said.. it's probably not as much as it would of been to upgrade to 95 when it came out.. i wasnt around when that happened.. so i have no idea.. but that's my guess
