Default 2 sound cards & two sets of speakers - Win XP

Hi,

I don't really know how to explain this but I'll try. What I want to be able to do is use my TFT stereo speakers for all Windows sounds such as warnings etc.

AND

Use my Creative 5.1 surround sound speakers for all other activities, such as music or videos etc.

I'm prepared to install two sound cards but don't know how to configure my system to tell it which sound card to use for what activity etc.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks, Ash

I have never tried something like this, but I do recall seeing some things in certain programs were you specified what device it used to playback audio. Honestly, I feel this whole idea is a waste or time and resources as a single soundcard would work just fine...
