OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
Basically when you buy a product thats OEM, your only getting the product, not the fancy packaging or other parts. Say for instance you buy an Athlon 64 3200+ OEM, all your going to get is the CPU, your not going to get the box, manual, or fan.
